Tips for Designing a Company Seal or Business Stamp
Keep it clear, professional, and easy to read. Simple tips for designing a company seal that works on documents and in print.
A company seal or business stamp should look professional and be easy to read. Here are a few practical tips.
Keep text readable
Use a clear font and enough spacing. Avoid packing too much text into a small circle or rectangle — if the text is tiny or cramped, it won’t print or scan well.
Choose the right shape
- Round — Classic for company seals and notary stamps. Fits most documents.
- Rectangular — Good for address stamps or “Received” / “Approved” stamps.
- Triangle — Less common but useful for certain branding or legal uses.
Pick the shape that matches how you’ll use the stamp (contracts, envelopes, labels, etc.).
Use your logo if you have one
Adding your logo to the stamp strengthens brand recognition. Most online stamp creators let you upload an image and place it in the center or a dedicated area. Use a simple, high-contrast logo for best results when stamped.
Export in the right format for the job
- Sending the file to a stamp manufacturer? Use SVG, EPS, or PDF.
- Stamping digitally on PDF or images? Use PNG with transparent background.
- Need it in Word? Insert a PNG (transparent) or place a PDF page.
